Carole Lauer Obituary

Carole A. Lauer
November 27, 1939 - June 27, 2022
Carole A. Lauer 82, passed away on June 27, 2022 at her home in Pacifica.
A proud fourth generation San Franciscan, Carole was born to Louis and Elaine Cuatto on November 27, 1939 and grew up with her sister, Karen in the Outer Mission. She attended St. Peter's Academy, graduating from the high school in 1957. While attending San Francisco State University, she met her future husband Donald G. Lauer, 90, who was a member of the Coastguard. Shortly thereafter, they wed and settled in Pacifica where they welcomed three children, Mark, 60, Kerry 59 (Dan) and Teresa 57. They are among her greatest blessings and she loved being their mother. Later on, Carole became "Nonnie" to a total of 10 grandchildren. She wanted to keep her Italian nick name despite finding out through a DNA test that she was actually French, insisting that the name Grand-mère didn't match with her cooking skills! Devoted to her Catholic faith, Carole was an active member of St. Peter's Parish in Pacifica where she frequented Saturday evening mass and had a large social circle. Her favorite hobbies included playing bridge at the community center, withdrawing and reading books from her local library and cooking for her family. Carole will be deeply missed by all who knew her. The family will be reaching out with details for a Celebration of Life.

Carole was the sister of the wife of my uncle, so a "distant aunt." We always enjoyed the gatherings where she and her family were present.

So sorry to hear she is gone.

I met Carole back in the late 1970´s when we both worked at Macy´s in Daly City. After many years I had the pleasure to remeet Carole at the Pacifica Senior Center when she played bridge with my mother, Lois. What a delight to reconnect with Carole. She was smart, lovely and a wonderful person. May God bless all of you as you continue on without her.

Carole was our lovely neighbor and the sweetest lady you could ever hope to meet. She will be truly missed by all who had the pleasure to know her. Our deepest condolences to Don and their family.

Carole and I were classmates from 4th grade through High School graduation. And we kept in touch over the years. She was so much fun to be around and expressed her sharp wit in pithy comments. She will be missed by many though we are glad for her that she is with God and her loved ones who have passed.
