Channing Wyckoff Parrett

March 11th, 2015

Channing Wyckoff Parrett, age 84, passed away in his sleep at his home in La Quinta, California on Wednesday, March 11th, 2015. Born in Brooklyn, New York to Raymond and Marion Parrett he graduated from Westfield Senior High School. From 1948-1949 he served in the U.S. Army as a company clerk. He was neat, organized and well liked by his supervisors. In 1953 he graduated from Parsons College with a Bachelors of Arts in Social Science.

He is survived by his wife Barbara, sons Mark Beal and Jeffrey Parrett, daughters Cheryl Glaiser and Linda Ryan, grandchildren Tiffany, Monique, Charlie, J'Neal, Trisa, Tauna, Olivia, Angela, Louie and Teddy. He is preceded by daughter Julie Parrett.

Chan, as his friends would call him lived a full and engaged life. He enjoyed watching sports, playing cards, and the game of golf. His greatest gift was his ability to connect and communicate with people at a personal level. He had a successful 30 career as an independent agent for State Farm Insurance where he was able assess and provide their unique needs. He was recognize several times as a member of their Millionaires Club for selling life insurance.

After retiring to Palm Desert, California he was able to pursue the golf he loved, travel with his wife Barbara and host his kids and grand kids. His favorite place to visit was Hawaii, often spending a month being visited by friends and family. With his success in life he was able to support philanthropic efforts such as Wounded Warriors, American Heart Association and Food in Need.
