Charles Johnson Obituary

Charles "Chuck" Johnson
September 15, 1934 - September 3, 2022
Loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, son and friend. Chuck was born in Philadelphia, the sixth child of Alice and Nelson Johnson. Chuck is survived by his sister Virginia and predeceased by siblings: Nelson, Alice, Catherine and Joseph.
Chuck met his wife Joan of over 60 years while serving as a Naval Pilot stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. They married in San Diego in 1961 and Joani was holding Chuck's hand when he passed.
Chuck was the first in his family to graduate from college, Penn State, with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He later earned his MBA from Santa Clara University while working at IBM and raising a young family. He was an early Silicon Valley success working for IBM, Diablo Systems, Priam, Dysan, Immatron and EDC.
Chuck was a loving and dedicated father. He is survived by his three children, Christopher Johnson, Michael Johnson and Julie Devincenzi and his four grandkids, Jessica and Michael Devincenzi, Christian and Carly Johnson.
In retirement, Joan and Chuck spent half their time at Lake Almanor where they played tennis and golf making wonderful friends and enjoying an active social life and traveling the world with friends and family.
The family is planning a Celebration of Life to be held at the Isle Cove Clubhouse in Foster City on October 30th from 2-5p. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation to the Alzheimer's Association or your favorite charity.
