Consolacion Capistrano Obituary

CAPISTRANO, Consolacion "Connie" Soliva - Connie Capistrano of San Francisco, was born November 24, 1925 in San Miguel, Iloilo Philippines. She died after a long illness while on vacation with her family in Iloilo, Philippines on October 7, 2005 at the age of 79. After high school Connie graduated from Iloilo Mission Hospital School of Nursing in Jaro, Iloilo City in 1949. She married Bonifacio R. Capistrano in 1951. She joined the nursing staff at TB Pavilion in Iloilo City until the family migrated to San Francisco in 1971. She worked as a staff nurse at St. Luke's Hospital for 25 years before she retired. Her life long interests in the activities of her church were exemplified with her strong spiritual, moral, and financial support both in her home church in San Francisco and in her church in the Philippines. She and Boni are active members of Geneva United Methodist Church. Connie was strong in her faith in God and imbued her children the love of God and fellow beings through daily family devotions, bible study, and attendance in Sunday school. Her qualities of love and compassion were exemplified in the way that she lived as a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Those who knew her experienced the unconditional love she gave so freely. After her retirement, she and her husband had the opportunity to travel together to visit family members. They also had the chance to see new places around the world. Connie is survived by her husband Boni and their three children Nenette, Nancy (Michael) Jaranilla and Bonifacio Jr. (Orpha). She is also survived by six grandchildren Krystle, Michael, and Joshua Jaranilla, Lorraine, Lianne, and Jerimiah Capistrano and great-grandson Kayson Cuaderno. Connie took great joy in being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Family and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Services on Thursday, Oct. 13th and Friday, Oct. 14th, both at 7:00pm at Grace United Methodist Church, 2540 Taraval St., S.F., CA (415) 731-3050. I will not say goodbye to my friend, my adopted mother, and my match-maker :) only say to her, so long for now, and I hope to see you in the Kingdom of Heaven, with your loving smile, to hear your stories, and wonder who you will match me with next! As your family accepts you in heaven, we wave so long to you here...
