On behalf of the Taraval Community Police Advisory Board, I extend our sincerest and most heartfelt condolences to Curtis's family and friends. Curtis served on our Board for a period during 2012-2013. I remember him as a very modest, reserved, and kind man. May he rest peacefully, and may the many wonderful memories of Curtis bring you comfort and peace at this difficult time. God bless him.

I wasn't a close friend of Curt, but every time we met he always had a smile on his face. He was truly a gentleman in every form of the word. When we did get together we always sang a song or two from his days with "The Vandals". You will be greatly missed my friend.

Last week was a very difficult time to concentrate on anything. When I found out Curt had moved on to his next life I was heart broken.
Curt was my friend , my mentor, my concert buddy and on many occasions my dining partner at Henry Hunan!
Long before there was a book , Curt would always say don't sweat the small stuff. I am working on it everyday.
Curt was a true "City Guy". He knew when someone asked what school did you attend it was High School!!
Curt was a giver. He lived his whole life to help others. I watched him do it for the last 23 years and I try to emulate his compassion for others on a daily basis.
Curt will always be in my heart and soul to guide me to do the next right thing.

Curt was a wonderful writer. Witty, humorous and insightful, a ruthless self-editor; his best pieces were sparingly shared. It was always a gift when I could pry an essay or story out of him.
He was never driven by any need to be in the spotlight, yet his dedication, integrity, and discipline were reflected just so in his Vandals' Reunion performances at Bimbo's 365 Club.
His efforts were not limited to his dexterous drumming, but equally to the enthusiasm that bolstered the camaraderie with his dear childhood friends and bandmates. And he was true to that philosophy in the conduct of his personal and professional life.
He contributed brief heartfelt bios about himself and the late Nick Paolini at:

He was one of those rare guys who would never fail to lift your spirits no matter his own personal circumstances. Love you, and miss you my friend, until that final reunion.

One of my very oldest and closest friends. We met when we were ten years old and we never changed. The funniest boy in grammar school (replacing me,) I hear your voice and will always miss you. Love you, Curt. Love you, Cathy...always.

Terribly shocked and saddened to learn of Curt's passing. A wonderful and wise Catholic gentleman and a person of surpassing decency and humility, I learned a lot from him. God bless and keep you until we meet again, Curt, and I send my most heartfelt condolences to all the Mallegni family.
I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now.
