Hello Gerry. I'm not sure if you will see this, but maybe you remember me as the one you took me when I was really homesick when I first came to go to Cal. It was because of your kindness that I graduated there, and went to Davis for my doctorate. Please get in touch with me at [email protected]. I'd sure like to touch base with you.

Gerry, I am so sorry to hear of the sudden passing of Dan. What a loss to your family for such a talented, fun guy--and especially for you, his longtime soul mate. Our prayers and thoughts are with you. Love, Diana and Yen Jew

I noticed in the San Francisco Chronicle that your father had passed away and want you all to know that you have our sympathy and condolences at this time. I was a counselor at El Cerrito High and although my section of the alphabet did not include the “U's” I did know of you probably through your friends.
When I came to ECHS in 1974 from De Anza I was unaware of the sizable group of Americans of Japanese ancestry living in El Cerrito, but as time went by many of these kids became close friends...the Koides, the Hondas, the Endos, the Haratani's and the Takedas among others. While I enjoyed almost all of my counselees, I think there will always be a special place in my memory for young people from families like yours.
