David Chandler Obituary

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle, David Gerald Chandler passed away peacefully at home in Manton, California, at the age of 67, after a battle with prostate cancer. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 44 years, Cathy Chandler, children, Michael Chandler and Michelle Chandler, granddaughters, Hayden and Charlie Jane, son-in-law, Sean Connell, mother, Joyce Chandler and siblings, Michelle Inama, Marcella Chandler, Patti Chandler, Betty Dellinger, Tara Rogers and Jay Thom. David was born in San Francisco and grew up in San Bruno, graduating Crestmoor High School in 1976. David loved motorcycle rides, exploring roads unknown, puttering about in retirement, but most of all camping with Cathy and spending time with family. He is fondly remembered for his kindness and good humor and his legendary, heartfelt Thanksgiving toasts - sometimes incoherent but always punctuated by his infectious laugh. A Celebration of Life will be held at Crooked Goat Brewing in Petaluma Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 2 to 6. Family and friends welcome. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your favorite charity.

From a small kid, as we say in Hawaii, Hanabuddah days (runny nose kid days) till now and for ever my dear friend Dave lives with me in my heart and soul. I'm grateful for the formative years growing up together small kids up and through high school and some years beyond at which time we began to drift on separate journeys, generating our own separate paths. Those formative memories are with me clear as a bell. We navigated through many lessons together growing wiser and persevering through life on life's terms. You are always looked upon as the kind hearted, fun loving, gracious one of us in the Buckeye Grove Gang. My heart is filled with love and joy you gave freely to me, and will sustain me forever.
