David WHIPPLE Obituary

"Trey" (David Richard III) Whipple "Trey" (David Richard III) Whipple, 46 of San Francisco, died May 4th, 2012. Trey Whipple was born September 8, 1965 in San Antonio, TX to David Whipple Jr and the late Bobbie Marie Thibodaux. Trey is survived by his father Dave, Dave's wife Sharon, brothers Chris and Michael, his niece Zoe and her son Alastair, and many uncles, aunts and cousins. Trey was raised in Carmel Valley, CA where he excelled at baseball, tennis, body surfing and stealing hearts. From the age of 23 on, living in San Francisco, is where he really spread his wings and truly excelled at business and the sport he swore he'd never love, golf. Trey enjoyed a life surrounded by love and excitement and was loved dearly by his family, his friends and his community. Trey was an amazing person with an incredible sense of humor who loved to live life to the fullest. Trey believed if you weren't at least a little bit scared you weren't having enough fun and that showed in the way he lived and loved. He was and always will be a mentor, guide and inspiration to the many people he touched throughout his life. His absence from this world will be missed dearly. There will be a celebration of Trey's life Sunday, June 3rd from 3-5pm at the First Unitarian Universalist Society of SF, 1187 Franklin Street, San Francisco, CA 94109. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Trey's name to Cri-help, 11027 Burbank Blvd., North Hollywood, CA 91601, or online https://www.cri-help.org/donateonline.aspx

I only met Trey on one occasion years ago - but I know his father well. There is not a more loving and gracious person on the planet than Dave Whipple - characteristics I am sure were part of Trey's qualities. Our love and prayers to all family members.

I knew Trey in Carmel as a child. What a funny, sweet child he was! I know the world will miss him, but he is lighting up heaven now! Laura Douglas

Trey came and went in my life, but always made an impression because of his charisma and bold energy. We were in the 1st grade together at Foothill School where the girls chased him a lot on the playground because he was the most fun. Trey (the coolest boy in the 6th grade) was my first "date" in 6th grade at Carmel Middle School. We went to the move "King Kong" where he acted like he was 15 and held my hand through the entire show. He was also my "date" to the senior prom as a good friend. We never new each other after those formative years, but I am sad to know of the loss his family must face in losing him.

Trey was a sweet man full of spirit and light- I remember fondly his laugh and his smile, as we ran around together at work. My condolences to Mike, Chris, and all of the Whipple family.

"What more is there to give than; "A spirited positive attitude" Trey Whipple" was a great example of that.
