To Dawn's family family my condolences...
Dawn was to me first student...then employee....then friend, mentor, work out companion and adventure buddy. We golfed, kayaked, hiked, camped, cycled, snow-shooed, and drove all over California. Every conference was a chance at adventure, a possibility of a new thrift store. Dawn loved to learn, loved to laugh, loved to teach. She was clever. A master of non verbal communication. Smarter than the average bear. I will miss her dearly as will all of my family, her dutch nephews......(my 3 boys). Perhaps that is because she gave the best presents? But also because she was a great conversationalist and always took an interest in what they were up to. She sat through many musical moments on the piano, trumpet, and clarinet. (Some better than others)

My deepest sympathy to the family of Dawn. I will miss working alongside her. At times it was the most stressful situations. She always had a calm about her and control over the situation. I truly enjoyed getting to know Dawn through the years at MMC. She will be missed. God Bless

To Dawn's Husband and family: I had the pleasure of working with Dawn in the operating room here at MMC teaching her to scrub. I appreciated her willingness to learn and her courteousness. She was the lady that encouraged me and gave me the information to hike Mt Whitney. She will be missed!

Dawn taught me many things in the time we worked together. I was always awed by her ability to take on any challenge that came along. The world was a better place because she was in it. My thoughts and prayers to her family. Della Tiwater

To the family members of Dawn please know that she was most respected by her colleagues, I feel every patient she touched had a better outcome due to her skill, knowledge and compassion. Her dry humor and no nonsense attitude made work enjoyable. I'm really happy to have had the honor of working with you Dawn at both memorial and CSU Stanislaus

I worked with Dawn in education and in the ICU. She was always there for us when we called her as a trauma case manager. She was willing to help and educate even when she was probably pressed for time. She was a kind and insightful person. Words have been hard to find since this came as such a shock to me. It reminds me how precious life is and to fill each day with special people and experiences. You will be missed and know you were loved and appreciated to all of us.
