Passed away peacefully on March 19, 2014 at the age of 82, Donald is survived by his loving wife Arline of 60 years, three daughters Yvonne, Donna, Arleen and son Don Jr. He is grandfather to Jameson and Brandon Radu and Sophia Osuna.
The second youngest of 10 children and San Franciscan native, Donald is also survived by his brother Leo and two sisters Barbara and Claire; predeceased by his brothers Anthony, Lawrence, Eugene and Raymond; sisters Marguerite and Dolores.
Born and raised in San Francisco, Donald excelled in sports and attended Sacred Heart High School Class of 1949. Upon graduation, he enlisted four years of service in the United States Air Force as an Airman First Class and developed the admiration of his fellow airman to be nicknamed "Ace from the Base Osuna" for cleaning up the card tables.
Smart to take earlier retirement from the Pacific Telephone & Telegraph Co. after 35 years as a building mechanic, he was an avid 49er Faithful and season ticket holder. One of his greatest pleasures was playing jazz piano for others of which he could not read music along with a regular cameo appearance at Joe's of Westlake.
He greatly enjoyed "making the rounds" most every week-end to visit family-aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers and sisters. His love for the old western cowboy life and movies was evident in his personality along with his sense of humor-always known to joke and kid around. His generosity to family and others was enormous and would give you the shirt off his back as he did till the last days of his death.
Friends and family are invited to attend services on Tuesday, March 25th from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm at Duggan's Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Ave., Daly City, where a vigil service will be held at 7:00 pm. I'm proud to say I shook the hand that shook the world! I have so many memories of Big Don making me laugh. He also introduced me to Herb Alpert, Sergio Mendes, and of course the Psychoanaltwist and other twist tunes from a great album he had. Thanks for the memories.

Big Don was a wonderful fun loving man. I enjoyed having him over the house for pay-per-view sporting events. His quick wit and charm was infectious as he mixed it up with everyone in attendance.
My thoughts, prayers and love go out to all of the Osuna family at this time of great loss.
