EDWARD MCCRARY Obituary

Edward Dale McCrary Aug 2, 1934 - May 10, 2012 Edward Dale McCrary, FAIA, died on May 10th after a brave battle with multiple myeloma. Ed died at the home he helped design in Hillsborough, CA. Ed leaves behind his wife, Juliana; daughters Kimberly Cook (Steve), and Monica McCrary (Mike Rao), son Craig McCrary (Judy), and four loving grandchildren; Maegan and Corey McCrary; and Jared and Braeden Rao. After thirty-five great years at SOM, Ed joined HOK and became Managing Principal where he led the office to an era of historic productivity, design excellence, and leadership in sustainable design. Ed found his time at HOK to be extremely rewarding; the projects, the environment, and most of all his colleagues. His children admired, loved and respected him. His grandchildren learned a lot from Grandpa Ed and they have precious memories that will last forever. His wife shared a lifetime of wonderful memories; a joy that can only come from a loving marriage like the one they had for over 55 years. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Donations can be sent to the Center for Architecture & Design www.cadsf.org or www.themmrf.org For information on a celebration of his life, please contact [email protected]
