Ed passed away In Monterey, at age 86. He was the beloved husband of the late Claire Tyson Mosconi, beloved husband of Elaine Good-Mosconi; cherished brother to Audrey Jean Cope (late brother-in-law Jerry Cope). Son of the late Emil and Josephine Mosconi. Loving father to Steven (Janel) Mosconi, Carol Mosconi, Janet (Paul) Peterson, Barbara (Mike) McGee. Cherished grandfather to Jennifer (Brian) Fuller, Brian (Juana)McGee, Jeffrey (Cassie) McGee, Mike McGee, Brad (Nichole) Peterson, Chris (Chelsea) Peterson. Adored great-grandfather to Nathan and Holly Fuller, Lyla and Logan Peterson. Loving step-father to Carrie Leeb and step-grandfather to Milo Leeb-Domina.
Ed grew up in San Francisco and worked for Podesta Baldocchi in his younger years. Ed was a proud graduate of St Ignatius High School (1945) and University of San Francisco (1950). World War II Navy Veteran and Associate Peace Corps Director of Micronesia stationed in Saipan. For 36 years he was a Teacher and Administrator in San Francisco, Daly City, and Marin County. (Colma, Bel Aire, Belvedere, Reed, Granada, Horace Mann, Jefferson Elementary, Crocker/Vista Grande, Benjamin Franklin Jr H.S.) He raised his family in Larkspur (Hillview Gardens) and retired in Carmel. He was very proud of all his children and grandchildren. They were the light of his life. He had a wonderful sense of humor enjoyed by all. He was an amateur radio operator (K6VID) and enjoyed the hobby with his son. Ed loved to travel to Hawaii and Europe. His last trip was to Italy at age 85 where he found his family home. He was proud of his Italian heritage and came to Marin often to see family and visit Marin Joe's. Ed loved playing golf, history and was an avid reader. He will be deeply missed by family, many of his close SI/USF friends as well as friends in Marin, SF and Monterey area.
At his request no services will be held. Burial will be at the Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno. In lieu of flowers the family prefers a contribution to the St Ignatius College Preparatory Scholarship Fund, 2001 37th Ave, S.F. Ca 94116 in his memory.
