Elsie Krem Obituary

Elsie J. Krem Died at home in Albany with dignity and grace on Sunday, June 24, 2007. She was healthy, happy and surrounded by love. Housemother at Edgewood Center in SF in the '40s, registrar at St. Mary's High School in Berkeley in the '50s and '60s, on the board of Camping Unlimited for Retarded Children for years. She is survived by sons, Alex Jr. and Tom of Berkeley; grandchildren, Cindy Krem O'Donnell and Terry Krem of Sandpoint, ID, Eric Zivnuska of Berkeley, Christina and Charlotte Krem of New Zealand; great grandchildren, Mathiew and Kellie O'Donnell of Sandpoint; nieces, Dorothy Waraner of Reno, Kathleen Reeder of Kelseyville and Lenka Kremenliev Herrik of Santa Cruz; nephew, Greg Kremenliev of Concord; and many grand and great-grand nephews and nieces in CA and NV. She was known for her warmth, generosity, sense of humor and joy of life. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed. Memorial service: Northbrae Community Church, 941 The Alameda, Berkeley, Sunday, 8 July at 2 pm. No flowers, please. Gifts to Camping Unlimited, 4610 Whitesands Ct., El Sobrante, CA 94803.

I have known and loved Elsie since I was a seventh grader at Saint Marys Grammar School, then at Camping Unlimited. The world is poorer without her kind and loving spirit. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and her many friends.
