Enzo Peter Gasparini

October 4, 1920 - June 22, 2016

Born in Modena (Northern Italy) in 1920, Enzo attended schools and graduated in Accounting & Business Administration. Drafted into the Italian Army in 1940, participated in the "African Campaign" until captured by "The French Foreign Legion" in 1943. Spent 2.5 years in prisoner of war camps, of which 1.5 years were in the U.S. Returned to Italy in 1946 where he resumed his studies at the University of Bologna, until his migration to the U.S. in 1948.

Employed as a teller with Bank of America, Modesto branch, in spring of 1949. Later he was transferred to other branches as a Lending Officer. In 1956, he was named as Head of the Italian Dept., a division of the Business Development Dept., BOFA. In 1967, he was made Manager in Valparaíso, Chile. Also, he and Patti were married just 15 days before he was sent to Chile. They lived in Chile for 4 years. Enzo was transferred as Manager in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He served as Manager for 5 years. He took an early retirement so he could remain in the Dominican Republic and became CEO to a Spanish company. After 15 years, he and his wife Patricia returned to Hillsborough, CA.

Enzo was always very social and active. He was elected President of the International Rotary in Santo Domingo. He was on the Board of Directors at the American-Dominican Institute and later became Assistant Director. Also a member of the Elks-Sirs "Portsmouth Society" and is a BOFA retiree. He was an active bowler, golfer, a great hunter of game and had a beautiful singing voice. A happy moment occurred on 1/4/16 where he shot a hole in one (140 yards at Hole 7) at the San Mateo Golf Course. He had a smile that would light up his face. Respected by all, loved by many.

Survived by his wife of 49 years Patti, daughter Lesley Jane Gasparini, son Peter Gasparini, granddaughter Emily Knapp & grandson Enzo Gasparini. Private services were held.
