Erna Maroot Obituary

Erna Maroot June 24, 1946 - April 7, 2011 Resident of Woodland Hills, CA The dear daughter of Julius Lichtenstein of Burlingame and the late Jane Bracisco of San Francisco. Beloved brother of Paul Lichtenstein of San Francisco. Survived by her husband Todd Maroot, son Matt, his wife Sara, their newborn son, Jackson and many who were her friends and extended church family at Bel Air Presbyterian Church, 16221 Mulholland Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90049. Erna was a graduate of Lowell High School in San Francisco and studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music where she honed her classical piano skills. She just recently graduated from the University of Phoenix with a degree in finance. In the last 12 years of her professional life she worked in the medical insurance field, most recently at Health Net. Erna was extremely talented and creative. She was an avid quilter and loved to spend time creating in her quilting studio. Her passion for detail, fabric, textures and color all came together in this one passion. She had a passion for cooking and was quite a talented chef. Erna was diagnosed with cervical cancer in November 2009. Her indomitable spirit and joy in all things was never absent throughout her valiant fight with this dreaded disease. A Celebration of Life was held on Sunday, April 17. Memorial gifts are being received online at Bel Air Prebyterian Church, Attention: Erna Maroot Memorial Gifts Family Camp Scholarship Fund.
