Matthew Maroot Obituary

After a long and courageous battle with Acute Lymphoblastic Lymphoma, Matthew Chaed Maroot, age 29, passed away gently on Friday, July 13, 2007. Matthew had a heart of gold and a smile that would light up a room. He cared for and gave generously to all of his family and friends. All those who truly knew him loved him. He will be greatly missed, but his loving spirit will always be with us. Matthew graduated from Bullard High School in 1996. He went on to graduate with honors from California State University, Fresno in 2000. Matt,
You were the brother I never had. My happiest day was when you gave me the honor of being your best man. I will cherish you and all the times we had together good and bad. You gave so much of yourself and allways fought the good fight against "the man". Now you are at the right hand of THE MAN. See you soon in the Kingdom of Heaven. Kristen and Moogie you have my deepest condolences and I am sure you know I will allways be there.
All My Love,
Michael

Matt..through your childhood neighbor, and my good friends, Robert and Linda, I gained your acquaintance...I particularly remember some of those wild 4th or July celebrations. As you became a young man, I had the good fortune to renew my friendship with you because of your efforts within the Cultural Arts District, and downtown revitalization. Your love of life and enthusiasm for all good things is an inspiration to all of us. Through you I was blessed in getting to know your family and I will cherish your memory, and this new found friendship. Your courage, your smile, and your dedication to make this a better world will always be remembered. ...Love, Bill Bruce and Mercedes Bruce

Sydney and Kristen,
What a blessing to have a dad and husband as special as Matt. Sydney, you may not remember a lot about your dad, but he was kind, generous, positive, fun, and saw the best in others. He was selfless, and believed in the importance of family.
Because of his faith in Jesus as his Lord, he lives still, and you will see him again in Heaven!
Your dad endured a lot of pain from his illness this past year, but it was bearable because of the joy you and your mom brought to him and his faith. Another man who endured lots of pain once wrote "And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; I myself will see him with my own eyes--I, and not another. How my heart years within me!" Job 19: 26,27
See, your dad is so special that his Heavenly Father couldn't wait another minute to welcome him home.
Cherish the time you had with him, and live a life he would be proud of. We never know how long we'll live; so live every day to the fullest. And make sure you smile and laugh at least 20 times a day!!! That's what your dad did, and it is the great legacy he left for you and your mom.

With much love,
Greg and Julianne Nalchajian

Matt, your courage and determination to fight for your health and to keep your family together is an example for us all. I think of you still as a little boy, sweet, loving and always willing to share a big hug for your cousins. You were the youngest cousin of our generation and the first to leave us, which makes no sense. Sydney’s smile is a replica of yours and will be a reminder for what you left for your family “love and happiness”. I’m sure that your Aunt Mary (my Gram Nalchajian) was waiting at heaven’s gate with all your favorite food. Kiss her for us, as she and you will be forever remembered for your loving nature and commitment to family. We will miss you, Debbie, Lou and Jessica.

Ah, Matt...you gave me such a bad time about my Rams! You always made my classroom a sunnier place. You and your "sis" defined "class"...period. "Ma-Root"...I can hear your laughter!

Kristen, You don't know me my name is Salina. I read your husbands orbit today and it brought me to tears. The reason is because my husband passed away June 30, 2007 of acute lymphoid leukemia. He was also 29 yrs old. We have 2 daughters together they are 2yrs and 5yrs old. He was diagnosed last july 14,06. My brave husband put up a good fight, and I know yours did too. I just want to tell you that I know exactly how you feel and my prayers are with you and your little one. God Bless. p.s you can write back if you want to on my husband Armando Diaz Jr Guest Book.

Matt,

You were a tremendous person to know in so many ways. You had a wisdom and sense of humor that were way beyond your years even when you were a 14-year-old. Your laugh, charm, wit and sincerity will always be remembered and appreciated.

Matt, you left a wife where there was none, created a pint sized miracle named Syd who is more amazing than we could have imagined, turned unrelated adults into your "inlaws", made some of us grandparents and left new aunties and uncles. Thank you so much for leaving us this family legacy. We wish you pain free days, a heaven filled with striped orange kitties and a seat behind home plate for every Giants game.
