On February 27, 1933 Felice Serverino Taurian (aka Phil) was born in Zoppola, Italy. He died on April 15, joining his parents in Heaven Mario and Luigia and brother, Elso. At three years of age, he migrated with his family to the United States. They lived on a small farm in Davenport, Calif. When he shared memories of that time he spoke fondly of his dog, Terry. Eventually his family moved to San Francisco where he grew up and went to school. After graduating, he worked as a tool and die maker. Years later he moved onto CPC International working his way up until he retired. He saved up to buy his first house in Daly City and then as fate would have it, one evening while attending a dance at the Italian Social Club in San Francisco he met his beautiful wife to be, Filomena (Nella) and a few years later they married. Within five years, they had their son, Jeff. They moved to Burlingame nine years later and started the next chapter of their lives. They enjoyed travelling, socializing and spending time with their family and friends. Phil took great pride in knowing he could support his family comfortably and having a beautiful home that they could create memories in. He loved spending hours in his backyard. Planting and picking fresh veggies from his garden, sprucing up his annuals in pots, BBQ to add to the feast his wife was preparing and sitting for a bit to soak up some Vitamin D. He was a multifaceted man; proud, quiet and funny, you wouldn't be surprised to see him sitting alone quietly observing or he could also be in the middle of a crowd laughing and sharing stories with that beautiful smile on his face. In his down time, he enjoyed listening to Opera and watching old movies. Phil belonged to several clubs on the peninsula. You could find him playing bocce, enjoying dinner and dancing at the Peninsula Italian American Social Club. Socializing with his buddies and volunteering at the Mens Club and So. San Francisco Citizens Club.
Phil lived a fulfilled happy life and he will be missed by his family and friends. Phil is survived by his loving family. Devoted wife, Filomena (Nella); son Jeff; daughter-in-law, Tami; niece, Maria (Jose and Luciano); grandchildren, Travis (Nicky); great-grandchildren, Riley and Brooke; cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.
A Funeral Service will be held at Our Lady of Angels, Burlingame on April 24, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Alzheimer's Association. (www.alzfdn.org)
