Frank Longhitano Obituary
November 24, 1947 - October 27, 2021
Frank was a loving husband to his wife Josephine, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many.
He was preceded in death by his parents Carmelo and Orazia Longhitano, sister Mary Patane (Joseph).
Frank will be greatly missed by his brother Michael (Stella); children Frank and Gina Longhitano (Charles Huber); his grandchildren Tristen and Rinoa Longhitano, and Indigo Grace Longhitano Huber; many nephews and nieces, and dear friends.
Frank was born in Sicily, came to San Francisco in the early 1950's, worked for American Poultry Co. and Modesto Foods. He loved to garden and spend time with his grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Duggan's Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Avenue in Daly City on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 between 4-8 PM, with a Vigil/Rosary at 5:30 PM. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Church of the Epiphany at 827 Vienna Street in San Francisco. Final Resting Place will follow at Italian Cemetery in Colma.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to fund AML research at the UCSF Foundation, Dr. Cathy Smith Research Fund in Memory of Frank Longhitano: www.makeagift.ucsf.edu.

I went through Army basic training with Frank at Ft. Polk LA in 1967.
He was my best friend during those 8 weeks. When we were granted a weekend leave we took a bus to Alexandria, LA. We stayed at a rundown old hotel, with a rundown old restaurant. My memory is we also had a couple of rundown old steaks. We didn´t care! Nobody was telling us what to do and it was air conditioned!
As these things go, we were always going to get together when we returned home. We never did.
Whenever I think of my time at Ft.Polk I remember Frank and what a good friend he was. Although our time together was brief I think I knew his character. I´m sure he was an even better husband, father and grandfather. For that you are truly blessed.
