Gary Norton Obituary

Gary Norton Passed away peacefully at his home on March 14, 2006. He was 68 years old. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Marilyn Norton; his children, Anthony (Jennifer Norton), Tish, Barbara (Jimmy O'Connor), and Pauline; and grandchildren, Gabriella, Casey, and Emma. Brother to Craig Norton (Betty Ann) and Barbara Stewart. Brother-in-law to Carole Burke O'Connor (Kevin O'Conner) Linda Milani and the late Michael Milani (Joanne Milani). And a fantastic uncle to a great many nieces and nephews. Not only will Gary be missed by his family, but by the many friends and acquaintances that he has touched throughout his life. Gary was a very active participant in the local Burlingame community as a parishioner for more then 30 years at our Lady of Angels church, a long time member of the Rotary club of Burlingame and a booster for the Burlingame High School Marching Band and the Men's Club of OLA to name a few. A Memorial Mass will be held on March 31st at 6:15pm at Our Lady of Angels Church, 1721 Hillside Drive, Burlingame. Gary had the fashion sense to wear Bermuda shorts with tubes socks instead of slacks with his suit and tie. In honor of his memory, feel free to wear this sort of outfit to the memorial. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the following organizations: Capuchin Franciscan Seminarian Fund, 1345 Cortez Ave., Burlingame, CA 94010; Sisters of Mercy Ministry to the Poor, 2300 Adeline Dr., Burlingame, CA 94010; Pathways Hospice, 395 Oyster Point Blvd., #128, South San Francisco, CA 94080.

the city has lost a important piece of itself. Gary did so much for this town and the church, whether it was for the burlingame high band, teen club, or any one of the various clubs he belonged to. You have a great family here and I thank you all for being there for our family too.

Gary leaves big sandles to fill. We have fond, funny and loving memories - not to mention a few extra pounds we're still carrying around from some great gatherings. Our love to Gary's family.
