George Dayeh Obituary

George DayehResident of Redwood City, Formerly of Ramleh, Palestine.
George Elias Dayeh finally lost his courageous battle with cancer on June 7th, 2014 at his Redwood City home with his family by his side at the age of 66. George was born on Feb 23rd, 1948 in Ramleh, Palestine and made his way to Croatia in 1968. During his years at Zagreb University, where he ultimately graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering, George met his soulmate and wife of 37 years, Ana Dayeh. George then moved his young family to the United States in 1986 in search of the American Dream and a better life of opportunity for his beloved sons, Elias and Mihael. George's determination and drive for a better life for his family led to his dream becoming a reality before his passing. He was able to stand by his son's sides as they graduated from San Jose State University, got married to their soulmates, purchased homes, and witness the birth of each of his 5 precious grandchildren. The last 10 years of his life were filled with joy for George and Ana as they spent it cruising the world, at least 2 cruises every year, and dancing with their wonderful friends as members of the Golden Gate Smooth Dancers Club. George will be missed greatly by his family and will forever be remembered for his infectious smile and bigger than life personality in any language as he fluently spoke Arabic, English and Croatian.
George is survived by his wife Ana, sons Elias and Mihael, daughters in-law by marriage, actual daughters by heart, Victoria and Lisa, 5 precious grandchildren Vianna, George, Dominic, Lucija and Juliette, brothers Salim Dayeh, Hanna Dayeh and Miro Boban, who stood by his side 24 hours a day the last 7 months of George's life and sisters Yvonne Khoury, Samira Zabaneh, Hilda Simirioti.
Family and Friends may visit Wednesday June 11th for the Rosary Service at 7pm at Duggan's Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Ave, Daly City. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday June 12th at 10:00am at St. George Church, 399 San Fernando Way, San Francisco. Burial to follow at Greek Orthodox Memorial Park, Colma.

My deepest sympathy to Ana and Elias and Mihael and family. My heart goes out to you. George was a great man. Always smiling, and very positive. I will never forget the talks we used to have. George taught me the meaning of a "happy life" which was "a happy wife". God bless, and may he rest in peace.

Dear Ana, Elias and Family, Miso and Family. Please accept our deepest sympathy and condolences on the loss of your husband and father. I'm sorry we can't be there in person to extend our sympathy, and to attend George's service. As hard as it is, you can gain some comfort in knowing that George is in a much better place, without pain or suffering, and that he left this world knowing that his boys have become amazing men, with beautiful families of their own. He also knows that they will always take care of his Ana. You are also all very lucky to have each other, and a community that loves and supports you. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
