Gloria Garcia Obituary

Gloria Garcia
March 10, 1944 - May 4, 2022
Gloria Josephine Garcia was born in Oslob, Cebu Philippines on March 10, 1944 to Benito and Consesa Pedro. She came to the United States after the untimely death of her mother at the age of 14. She was responsible for her three younger siblings which she helped raise.
While attending City College of San Francisco, she met her husband, David. They married and had one daughter Danielle. Gloria lived her life to the fullest. She worked for many years for UFCW Local 101 as an Office Assistant until her retirement. She traveled the world far and wide, with friends or by herself. She never worried about traveling alone, because she knew she would make friends along the way. She was fiercely independent and loved new adventures. Her favorite places to visit were Greece and Italy. She also made annual Christmas trips to visit her baby sister Maria in Mauritius which is where she lives. One year she even went on a trekking trip and went through Kathmandu. She met many people during her travels and has made many friends along the way.She was a classical pianist, an amazing gourmet cook, a fashionista and loved playing with makeup and styling her hair. Her phrase to help get family and friends through the day was "Always think positive, because when you do, whatever you wish for WILL come true".
She was generous, kindhearted, thoughtful and a wonderful human being. She is survived by her loving daughter Danielle (John), grandchildren Jonathan and Brittany, siblings Maria, Oscar and Caesar (deceased), ex-husband David, and numerous friends and family.
