Helen R. O'Rourke

Helen R. O'Rourke (nee Breen) Passed away January 14, 2008. Helen was born in San Francisco, March 30, 1922 to Annie and John Breen. Her childhood home in the Richmond district was alive with family and friends. She was the youngest of nine, all who have preceded her in death: Eddie, Johnny, Noreen, Mary, Vincent, Anne, Bill and Frank. A dedicated student, she graduated from Presentation High School, where she met lifelong friends and enthusiastically participated in athletics. Helen was the beloved wife of the late Jack O'Rourke. Together with love and joy they raised their three children: Gene O'Rourke (Linda), San Francisco, Dennis O'Rourke (Nancy), Cameron Park and Anne Burchby (Steve), San Jose. Helen was the proud grandmother of Bridget O'Rourke, John O'Rourke, Oliver O'Rourke, Duffy O'Rourke, Casey Burchby and Allison Burchby and the loving great-grandmother of Molly and Brenna Tucker. She also leaves her brother-in-law Art O'Rourke, Ramsey, NJ, and many nieces and nephews. Helen was an active participant in the Catholic community and the schools her children attended in San Jose - St. Patrick's, Presentation and Bellarmine College Prep. Family and friends may visit Sunday, January 20th between 4 and 7pm with the Rosary beginning at 6:30pm at Davis Memorial Chapel, 609 Main St., Watsonville, CA. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon, Wednesday, January 23 at St. Nicholas Church, 473 Lincoln Ave., Los Altos, CA 94022. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request donations may be made to the Sisters of the Presentation, Presentation Center, 19480 Bear Creek Rd., Los Gatos, CA 95033-9519 or your favorite charity.
