How very sad to hear of Homer's passing. He was such a kind and gentle man who always seemed to genuinely care about others. It was always a joy to see his smiling face. I remember Homer and Roni and the kids when I was a child and we were neighbors, when I grew older and became the baby sitter, and later married and had a family of my own. He met my late husband and my children and even the grandchildren and they all came to know him. Even though we have not seen Homer since our move in 2000, the kids still remember him and his gentle soul.
My heart goes out to Roni and the kids and the rest of the family. I know how much you will miss him, but just remember all of the years you had to share with him. And keep in mind that he will always be there looking over you all.

I will remember Uncle Homer and his cheerful smile forever. I always appreciated his personal greetings at family gatherings. His keen ear for music and always interesting facts and stories stick out in my mind. He was a gentle, kind soul and I will miss him.
