Ida Pellegrini Obituary

Ida Pellegrini
06/06/1923 - 07/20/2025
Ida M. Pellegrini (Aida) passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025, at the age of 102. Ida was a lifelong resident of the Bay Area. She was born in San Mateo on June 6, 1923, and spent her early years on her family's ranch in Purisima, Half Moon Bay. The family relocated to San Francisco in 1930, where Ida remained for the rest of her life. Ida was the beloved wife of the late Vincent Pellegrini; the loving daughter of the late Alemanno and Gina Martelli; beloved sister to the late Norma and Lola Martelli. She was a loving mother to Robert (Susan), Richard (Janet), and Jeanne Pellegrini. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Laura Nelson (Jonathan), Alexia Pellegrini, Vincent Pellegrini, Nicole Murphy (William), Barbara Fitzgerald (Daniel), Marco Lancieri (Christiane), Kathryn Inglin (Damian), and Michael Pellegrini (Alissa), as well as 11 great-grandchildren.
Ida graduated from Galileo High School in 1942 and worked as an assistant buyer at Emporium Capwell Department Store until 1946, when she left to marry Vincent. They built a warm and happy life together and remained dedicated to each other for over 45 years. Together they were pioneers in the California wine industry. In 1973, they purchased a 70-acre plum and apple orchard in the Santa Rosa Plains, Russian River Valley and created Olivet Lane Estate Vineyard. After Vincent's death in 1989, she continued the tradition in partnership with her children.
Ida was a phenomenal cook and an avid traveler, with Italy being her favorite place to visit. She remained close with her extended family in Lucca. Ida's greatest passion in life was her family. In her final weeks, her happiest moments were spent recounting favorite memories of her loved ones with warmth and laughter.
The family would like to acknowledge her caregivers for their kindness and devotion during her final days.
Friends and family are invited to Ida's Funeral Mass on Monday, July 28th at 10:30 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 666 Filbert St., San Francisco. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Ida's name to your preferred charity.
