July 20, 1920 - March 10, 2014
Died peacefully at home in San Francisco after several years of struggling with Parkinson's disease. She grew up in Chico, California.
She is survived by Dr. Norman Steiner, the love of her life for 65 years, 4 daughters, 2 grandchildren, several extended family members and many others who considered her an essential part of their lives.
Jackie was passionate about peace & justice.
She took pride in her numerous artistic accomplishments but, was proudest of raising her children and blazing the Jaki trail in Napa.
Jackie was open, compassionate, intelligent, direct and humorous.
She was a great reader and constant listener of NPR. She was a wonderful cook, gardener and supporter of the arts and humanities.
Jackie will be deeply missed.

I met Jacky and the Steiner family a long time ago through my lovely wife. I just read that she has passed away . I am deeply saddened but I can assure you that the lovely memory of Jacky will remain, a kind hearted, strong and greatly artistic human, with a great sense of humor. Remembering her distinct voice expressed in laughter when Norman, Jane, Amy or Jackson told something funny. I will always remember.

I'm so honoured to have known Jaki, and the wonderful family she made. My favourite memories are of sitting next to Jaki at recent Thanksgivings at Diana's and enjoying her company and truthful view of the world.
love,
Arnold
