James Keenan Obituary

James Keenan
November 23, 1969 - March 7, 2022
Passed away too soon at the age of 52. Devoted husband of Danielle and loving father of sons Jack (18), James (16), and Tony (14). Survived by his loving parents, James and Carmen Keenan, and siblings, Kimberly, Steve (Patty), Janine (Karl) and his three nieces, Cassie, Madison, and Kaia. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Born in San Francisco, Jimmy attended St. Brendan School and graduated in the class of '88 from St. Ignatius College Preparatory. Jimmy loved sports and played four years on the SI soccer team. He continued to play soccer at City College of San Francisco where he received an A.A. degree ('90), then went onto St. Mary's College and he received his B.S. degree in Business ('92). He graduated from the Stationary Engineer Apprenticeship School as Apprentice of the Year. He worked for 30 years in the engineering field. His craftsmanship and technical skills were exceptional.
Jimmy's three boys Jack, James, and Tony were his greatest joy. His ever-present love and affection were shown with countless daily actions. A few activities included coaching CYO teams, cheering for the boys at their games, and attending many Giants games together. Fatherhood was his number one priority as he proudly watched his three boys grow to be fine young men.
Jimmy was loved for his generosity, thoughtfulness, and smile. His kind heart touched many lives, and he was loved by all who met him.
Jimmy enjoyed holidays including Easter, Thanksgiving, and especially Christmas season parties which were always celebrated at his parents' home with his siblings, nieces, many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Many Christmas Day celebrations were enjoyed at Jimmy's home in San Francisco.
Summers were always spent at Lake Tahoe since Jimmy was born. Every summer brought many fun-filled days at the log cabin, built by Jimmy's grandfather, father, and uncle, and improved by Jimmy. Many happy days at Lake Tahoe were filled with time at the beach, barbecues, playing badminton, basketball, fishing, and celebrating birthdays.
Jimmy had a wide circle of lifelong loving friends and spent many happy times with them. Known for his wit and humor, he will be sincerely missed and remembered by all who loved him.
Services were held at St. Cecilia's Church on Friday, March 11, 2022. He was interred at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma.

Jimmy was such a sweet, sensitive, cute little boy who eventually grew into a sweet, sensitive and handsome, young man; a husband, father and treasured family member!

While he left this earth way too early, I have to think that maybe Heaven really needed him...
