James Mullins Obituary

James Lewis Mullins
July 13, 1952 - June 27, 2023
James Lewis Mullins was born July 13, 1952 in Bridgeport, Connecticut
to the late Roger Mullins Sr. and Lonnie Lee Mullins. He is also the stepson of the late Minnie Mullins. He departed this life on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at age 70.
James graduated from Bullard-Havens Technical High School in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1970. He graduated from Fairfield University.
In Fairfield, Connecticut in 1976. He also graduated from Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey with a master's degree in History. He traveled to California where he worked for 28 years at The Bank of the West. After he retired, he worked part time at Sam's Club and FedEx where he loved to meet new people.
James was a loving, funny man who cherished his family and went out of his way to bring help and happiness to others. His obvious love of life and learning and his profound curiosity about the world were an inspiration. His love for history propelled him to do extensive work on the Mullins genealogy.
James served at Unity Center of Walnut Creek, helping with the Children's Church and videotaping the services. With Unity Center, his family and friends, he prepared bag lunches and meals for the homeless.
James was an avid photographer who would be seen taking pictures at many community events. Some of his favorite pictures were taken in Martinez, CA (Fire Department, Art in the Park, 4th of July Parade, and Graduation at Vicente High School). He also took pictures at weddings, family reunions, and special events for family and friends. He entered and won several photography contests. His favorite subject was the joy of his family and friends.
James leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Mary; two sons Ian and Ethan; two brothers Roger Jr (Christine) of Birmingham, Alabama and John (Jamesetta) of New Haven, Connecticut; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many many friends.
His loss is immeasurable; his impact on our lives is unforgettable.
