Dear Daisy, Kassandra, Jeremy, Forrest, Christopher
With each day that passes, i find myself trying to make sense of such a tragic loss...the loss of such a kind and loving man who lived life by example...who loved his family above all and was devoted to His loving God. When I reflect back on Jim's service and mass, I know I will be forever touched by the beautiful tribute each one of you paid to Jim. As I felt your unbearable sadness, I questioned how it was possible to have the strength to speak so openly from your hearts...And to Forrest who sang Ava Maria for your father like an angel. I believe Jim was there by your sides and he is so proud of all of you. We are all thinking of you, Linda iacovetta-Privitelli and family, Phil, Phili and Paolo

I was so very sad to hear of Jimmy's passing. He and his crew painted our building a couple of years ago, so I saw him virtually every day for several months. It was always a great pleasure to see him and talk with him. He was an incredibly sweet and kind man, eager to help in any way he could, a great problem-solver, an amazing project manager, incredibly generous of spirit, and the consummate professional. I so enjoyed knowing him and working with him. I'm very sad that his time here on earth was so short. What a tremendous loss for us all. My heart goes out to his family and friends.

March 25, 2014

After sharing in Jimmy's rosary this evening, I came home and read this in my e-mails and reflected, this totally sums up what Jim's philosophy of life was. God love him and the legacy of the family he left behind. So much of him has been imparted to each of you, that his spirit lives forever. Love, Jackie

I only got to know Jim over the past year. He and his team painted our house. I really enjoyed getting to know him and loved bumping into him around the neighborhood in that green truck of his. He was such a gentleman, always so upbeat and positive, and proud of his faith. I will miss him. My best to the family.

Dear Nolan Family:

Our hearts broke at the news of Jimmy's sudden death, but we are also lucky to have called such a wonderful person "friend". He impressed us all with how giving he was to everyone. He was a wonderful role model - gentle, compassionate and caring. No matter how tired he was or what side of town he was on, if his kids had a game or performance Jim would get there, even if he could only be there for the last five minutes.
Our heavenly Father has called Jim to be with Him, to set up his sound equipment so when we are lost and cannot find our way, we can listen in our hearts and hear the music Jim is playing. We are so lucky to have known this wonderful man, most beloved husband, unconditionally loving father, warm and generous friend; his light will inspire us to follow him!
With love and gratitude, Clark, Maria, Maya, Emi and Kiko Melrose

Dave, Daisy and Family,

Too young. A wonderful, gentle man with the most beautiful dancing blue eyes. My best to to you all and my deepest sympathies. This man made it to Heaven. Although I'm glad I hung my brush up 20 years ago, working with you guys was always a blast. Especially on Friday when we all went to the Pig and Whistle after work. Many fond memories. We were the best brush-men in the city. Love & Peace, Marcel De Grosse & Geraldine Haslett (aka the little field mouse) [email protected]

I just wanted to add that my father was such a devoted catholic and had the most faithful spirit. We, his children, are so thankful and greatful to have had such an awesome spiritual leader, teacher, and friend. He was kind, gentle, patient, warm, thoughtful, generous and above all loving. We felt loved by our father, everyday. He was the coolest guy. Not many may know, but he had a passion and eye for photography. He was an artist at heart. He loved music, especially music made by his sons (Jeremy, Forrest and Christopher). He would have been an amazing music producer/recorder. He loved recording performances of his sons and the GGBC. He was the most. Plain and simple. I will miss him everyday. You left us much to early daddy. River and Vivienne (my son and daughter) had the best grandpa and they will miss you too. Like you forever, love you always.

Your lovey dovey,
Kassandra

I am so very saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Mr. Jim Nolan. He was a most kind and generous gentleman. He was one of those who stepped forward to assist me when my own parents were ill, and continued that support when they each passed away. I know I am joined by all the members of the Golden Gate Boys Choir to offer our sincere sympathy to Mrs. Nolan and all the family members, especially Jeremy, Forrest and Christopher. He will rest in peace!
