Jimmy was one of the wonderful people I have met in my life through my Progressive orientation. The fact that he was an inveterate pokerplayer doubled the ante. We spent many pleasant and joyful nights together at the poker table, even when the political news was bad.

Jimmy was a calming presence and I enjoyed hearing the positive side from him about the terrible things happening to democracy here and abroad. Jimmy widened my understanding about everything that was happening here, good and bad, and helped me weather the slings and arrows of the outrageous events that beset us.

He was good natured and pacifying until the end, and that helped a lot of people like me. I do miss him.
