James ("Jamie") Prior Williams passed away peacefully in his home in Greenbrae, CA on October 22, 2024.
He was the proud father of three daughters: Kathryn Boyd George (Harrison George), Ashley Marie Williams (fiancé Dan Golden), and Madeline Prior Williams, and the grandfather of Hazel Prior Adams. He also leaves behind his loving sister Pamela Boyd Williams, his former wife Linda Williams, four first cousins (Boyd Cahill, Carolyn Ames, Deborah Shea and Jay Sweet), and nearly thirty second and third cousins. Jamie is now reunited with the parents he adored, David and Virginia Williams.
Well known locally for his years in the banking industry in Marin, Jamie served as California Market President of Sterling Bank; President & CEO of Greater Bay Bank Marin; and Regional VP of West America Bank for Marin and Napa counties. He also held management positions at Wells Fargo Bank and Union Bank. His commercial banking expertise was recognized consistently through various awards, as was his ability to build successful teams and mentor his employees.
In his personal life, Jamie graduated from Redwood High School in Marin County and the University of Santa Clara. His sport of choice was playing baseball, although he also played on college tennis and rugby teams. He volunteered his time as Treasurer of the local USO, and was a former member of the Bohemian Club in San Francisco. Jamie was a true friend to so many people, known for his sense of humor, laughter and fun; he will be greatly missed and remembered with love.
