Jane Elizabeth Washburn passed away on June 23, 2013 from complications after suffering serious injuries in a fall. She was born on April 3, 1920 in San Francisco where she attended Notre Dame Convent School and Lone Mountain College. She retired from a career as a legal secretary and had been a resident of Atherton for more than 33 years. She is survived by Rodney H. Washburn, her husband of more than 50 years.
Jane was a vivacious free spirit who lived life to the fullest, with understanding, compassion and empathy for everyone.
A viewing will be held at Roller & Hapgood & Tinney Funeral Home, 980 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto at 1:00 to 5:00p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2013. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00a.m. on Monday, July 1, 2013 at the Church of the Nativity, 210 Oak Grove Avenue, Menlo Park. A graveside service will be family only.
Gifts in lieu of flowers can be sent to the American Cancer Society, the Holbrook Palmer Recreation Park Foundation (150 Watkins Avenue, Atherton, CA 94027) or to the Arthritis Foundation.
