Jan is and always will be a hero of mine. She demonstrated for many people in our COPD Research and in our Better Breathers group that it was possible to live joyously in the presence of lung disease. She was also an incredibly effective teacher and model on the benefits of exercise and remaining conditioned to maintain one's health in the midst of lung disease--she was much more effective than a health professional on these topics, given her personal experience. She demonstrated for her colleagues in the groups what living well meant, regaling us with stories of her adventures. We will miss her in our groups and we also celebrate her ongoing influence in our lives!

I didn't know Jan personally, however I feel like I do from what Susan has been kind enough to share with me (Cocktail hours with mom and dad:-). I know her spirit and love lives on. Condolences to her family and friends.
