Janet Motzer Frye died unexpectedly on August 13, 2017 with her family by her side. Jan was born and raised in San Francisco where she attended Notre Dame des Victoires and Lincoln High School. She met her husband John at UC Davis where she graduated in 1966. Jan was a teacher at Hillsdale High School and Crocker Middle School. She taught dance aerobics at the Peninsula Family YMCA for 40 years where she made many lifelong and dear friends. She adored her 3 grandchildren and loved being a grandma. Jan and John just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary by vacationing with their family in Oahu.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

Jan and I became such good friends while choreographing and teaching Dance Fitness at the Y, that my younger daughter called her "Jan Mommy". Jan was gracious and lovely, talented in everything she did. I always enjoyed her company, her humor, and her charm. I wish you all peace and know that you have many loving memories of that extraordinary woman.

As one of Janet's NDV classmates, I was saddened to learn of her passing. Seeing her at reunions and talking about the events in our childhoods was always filled with happy memories of our growing up.
My condolences to her family and friends.

We received the news of Janet's passing with deep sorrow.
Janet ma Cousine d'Amérique , Her grand mother Alice and my grand father Marius were cousins and good friends in 1905 in San Francisco. The Motzer family kept in touch corresponding and visiting France in the 50's. In 1979 Saras and I met Alice Motzer, Janet and the Frye family in San Francisco. We were received by Janet and John with such warmth as though we had known each other for ever. Janet even mentioned she would have loved to have had us as neighbours. We had the great pleasure to meet up with the Motzer and Frye family in France in 1987 at the Pelerinage en Champsaur rediscover your roots. What a wonderful fun time we had and unforgettable moments. We will remember Janet as an elegant, warm, full of joy lovely person. Dearest Janet the memories of you will always remain in our hearts.
To John and all the Family, our sincere condolences.

Dear John, Jenelle and Jane,
Barbara and I are so devastated by the passing of Jan. We cry with you and wonder why? Unfortunately, we have been down that path.
To us, Jan was a person of sweet character. You picked the perfect picture to express her sweetness. She was the kind of lady you could spend a vacation with and never get tired of her smile or laughter and just want to spend a little more time. Ours days in Mexico together are all the more cherished now.
We wish there were words we could recite to ease your pain. I don't think there are any. But, we do know this she is in a better place today. We'll see that smile again and she will welcome us home. Blessings,
Walt & Barbara Zimmer
