Jay Dee Wark, MD Passed March 11, 2012 to another life after a great run here on earth. Came west in '42 worked in Kaiser Richmond shipyard #3, obtained his seaman's papers and started a 7 yr career in the US Merchant Marine, both in war time & post-war service, around the world 7 times as well as trans-pacific routes. He was also director of the narcotic detection center for SF Health Dept for 19 yrs. Retired from active medicine at age 75, regretfully leaving his many friends & loyal patients. A long time resident of Larkspur, his loss has created a large vacuum, especially for his loving wife Sydney of 41 yrs of marriage and daughter Jana Maloney (Stephen) & Michael Valencia, Renee Ewert (Ted), Claudine Velluet & 8 beautiful grandchildren. He loved to educate himself & others and his incredible humor, piano playing and infinite class will surely be missed. Above all, we will miss his wisdom, loyalty and gentle heart. I am sure my late grandmother Margaret Collins, will be waiting in line to see him in Heaven. It's been 26 years since he last saw her, I am sure she has a long list of aches & pains to ask him about now. A fine caring doctor who would still come to the house to see her, and the final visit to pronounce her dead.

Dr. Jay Dee Wark was a incredibly sensitive and warm, old fashioned doctor with heart of gold as one of his patients I can attest. My heart is heavy that world has lost a great doctor and caring man. My sympathies to the family... and may you rest in peace...you will be missed !
