Jeannine Donohue Obituary

Jeannine passed away peacefully on August 14, 2024 with family by her side after long term pulmonary and respiratory issues ending with Covid-19. She remained in her own home until age 95 with the loving attention of many amazing caregivers.
Born in Brussels Belgium, Jeannine immigrated to the US in 1948 at the age of 18 with her family, and soon found herself in San Francisco where she had a career as a typist before starting her own family in 1962 with Richard Donohue. She lived in the same home on Cabrillo Street for the remainder of her life where they raised three children. She was very active in her faith and parish at Star of the Sea, where she attended Bible study, taught classes in knitting and French, and participated in many social activities from movies to Bingo nights.
She was preceded in death by her younger brother, Jacques Gubbels (2019), and survived by her loving family members. Husband: Richard Donohue. Children: Annmarie (Rich) Przybyszewski, Michael (Fran) Donohue, and Joseph (Tyra) Donohue. Grandchildren: Shelly Donohue, Jennifer (Nick) Teal, Brian (Emily) Donohue, Eric and Gabrielle Przybyszewski. Great Grandchild: Lucy Teal.
You will be missed but always in our hearts! Au revoir et bonsoir.
Catholic Funeral, Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Star of the Sea Church
9am - Rosary/Viewing
10am - Funeral Mass
1pm - Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma

I remember seeing Jeannine every Saturday evening at the Vigil Mass at Star of the Sea. An amazing woman of deep faith, kindness and love. She will continue to inspire all of us at both the parish and beyond.
Rest in peace Jeannine! We love you.
