Jeffery Layne Obituary

Jeffery Scott Layne, DC
May 15, 1951 - December 25, 2023
Jeffrey Scott Layne, DC was born in Los Angeles, Calif., on May 15, 1951, and died in Danville, Calif., on December 25, 2023.
Jeff attended Lowell High School in San Francisco and was the varsity football quarterback in his senior year. After serving in the Coast Guard Reserves, he completed his undergraduate education at California State University, Hayward with a BS in Biology and then followed his father and grandmother into the field of chiropractic. He earned his Doctorate from the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, in 1979, launching his career-long mission to alleviate his patients' pain. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hiking, skiing, and golf, which was replaced in his later years by disc golf.
Jeff was preceded in death by his older brothers, Jim and Bruce; and is survived by his younger brother, Tim.
Jeff will be greatly missed by his wife and high school sweetheart, Sally; their children, Tyler and Sherry; and his extended family and friends. A private memorial service will be held in his honor.

Dr. Layne is the best and most compassionate chiropractor I've ever seen. It was a shock to me when I learnt he passed away. My prayers for him and the family. He will always be missed.

Jeff was a fine person and a good quarterback for our Lowell varsity team. I knew him at Aptos Jr. High originally and was a teammate on Lowell football for two years. I was a running back so Jeff handed the ball off to me many times. He worked hard on the field and we went 8-0 senior year, to win the first AAA Round Robin championship in 8 years. Unfortunately we lost in the first round of the playoffs to Balboa, a team we had beaten the week before, to miss Turkey Day. I saw Jeff at many of our HS reunions and he was always very friendly and upbeat and we had fun conversations about school and football days. His wife Sally was a classmate of mine also and my condolences go out to her and their kids and extended family. He will be missed! P.S. I just found out about this or you would have heard from me earlier. Warm Regards, Mike

He will be greatly missed. I was classmate of his in Chiro. school. Also he was in an office we both shared for several years. My thoughts and prayers for his spirit go out to the universe.
