Jeffrey Lippstreu Obituary

Jeffrey Lippstreu
January 5, 1961 - April 12, 2022
Jeffrey Harold Lippstreu, born in Carmel, CA on January 5, 1961, passed away unexpectedly on April 12, 2022 at his home in Greenbrae, CA. Jeff was predeceased by his father, Harold, sister, Karen, and beloved cat, Bella. Jeff leaves behind his mother, Luanne, his wife, Linda, and his two children, Kristen and Scott.
A graduate of Clear Lake High School ('79), Jeff completed his education at Saint Mary's in Moraga ('83) where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Recruited to play football, Jeff loved his time at SMC, forging meaningful and long-lasting friendships with his fellow Gaels.
Jeff met his bride, Linda, when they worked together for First Interstate Bank right out of college. They moved to Marin in 1987 where they built a home and a life together. In 1990, his daughter Kristen was born, quickly followed by his son Scott, in 1993. His two children were the light of his life and he supported them through each and every one of their endeavors. He loved being a father.
The son of two public school educators, Jeff valued mentorship, teaching, and community. Jeff transitioned his career into School Administration, working for Marin public school districts, including Novato Unified, San Rafael City Schools, and most recently, Lagunitas. This allowed him to pursue his love of coaching. Jeff coached a variety of youth sports teams ranging from the Marin Blue Angels to the Marin Catholic freshman basketball and varsity football teams. Over the years, Jeff was fortunate to positively impact and inspire hundreds of young people.
In his "down time," Jeff followed in his father Hal's footsteps, and became a licensed contractor. He and Hal built dozens of homes in Lake and Marin County, most notably the Lippstreu family home in Greenbrae. An avid gardener, Jeff took pride to beautify the home, tending to his roses, sweet peas, tomatoes, and berries. Occasionally, he was known to turn his harvested berries into a delicious pie.
A memorial service will be held for him at St Sebastian Church, 378 Bon Air Road, Greenbrae on May 9 at 1:00pm. Friends are invited to make donations in Jeff's honor to the Marin Catholic Boosters or scholarship fund.

We are so sorry to hear of Jeffrey's passing. He was such a wonderful man that we had the privilege of knowing. We met him through MC softball and there couldn't be a nicer guy. He was funny, knowledgeable and kind. He was so proud of his kids and their accomplishments. We will miss running into him around Marin and his always smiling face. What a loss for all. A great man!

I am very sorry to hear of Jeff's passing. I lived next door to the Lippstreu family in Lakeport. Jeff and I graduated high school together and in my young years Karen and I were barbie doll mates!
I send many prayers to Mrs. Lippstreu and Jeff's family.
I have many memories and will treasure always.
God bless.
