Jerry David Moreland

Jerry passed away peacefully at his home in Millbrae with his loving family by his side, he was 85. Born in 1930 to Lewis Moreland and Ruby Christopher in St. Louis Missouri. Jerry met the love of his life Lucille nee Furey and moved to California in 1953 with their then 11-month old son, Michael.
Jerry was a small business owner and started Jerry Moreland & Son Plumbing Inc. in 1963. When Jerry retired from the business in 1994 he pursued his passion for restoring classic cars. Jerry built a Gatsby and a Daytona Ferrari from the ground up. Jerry also restored three cars, a 1964 Ford Ranchero, a 1953 Buick Roadster, and the pride and joy of his collection a 1963 Corvette Split Window Coupe. The Corvette was a frequent first place winner at the Hillsborough Concours d'Elegance automobile exhibition. Jerry enjoyed family gatherings, traveling, and salmon fishing in Alaska. In retirement Jerry also cherished spending time with his loved ones at his second home in Discovery Bay.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 64 years Lucille, his three children Michael (Terrie), Barbara Porter (Jim deceased), and Debbie Henry (Richard); his eight grandchildren, Bryan Moreland (Betsy), Lisa Papa (Dan), Travis Porter, Trevor Porter (Theresa), Chawntay Deo (Jason), Jarrett Henry, Michael Moreland Jr, & Michelle Moreland; and his nine great-grandchildren, also his cousins Judy and Bob Hochecker in O'Fallon Missouri, Nephew Don Short (Kim) O'Fallon Missouri.
Memorial services will be held at the Chapel of the Highlands, 194 Millwood Drive Millbrae, CA 94030 on Thursday June 25, 2015 at 11:00 AM.
Donations to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and The American Heart Association are requested in lieu of flowers,
