Every Sunday, you would find mom doing her crosswords and reading the obituaries happily knowing she wasn't in them. Today that changed. Joan Stack Holland passed away at 92 on Monday August 3rd. Joan lived a very independent life, enjoying all that San Francisco had to offer. She was a vivacious, non-judgmental, well read, quick witted, fun loving, Irish bred soul. Mom came from a family of eight children was very proud of her Irish heritage and was the historian of the family. She leaves behind her three children, Patty, Jackie and Danny Holland, three grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, 29 nieces and nephews and extended family. Auntie Joan, Mom, Grandma, GG, Joanie will be sorely missed but will hold great memories in our hearts. Donations can be made to St. Anthony's Foundation (stanthonysf.org). There will be a mass at St. Philip at 10 am on 8/15.
