John "Sean" Bermingham

Sean was born in Kilrickle, Co. Galway, Ireland on July 20, 1943. Sean is survived
by his life partner Marilyn Moffett, who he met on St. Patrick day 1971 and they
are a story of endearing love that spans over half a century, with chapters in
between. He also leaves behind his sister Christina (Pat) (Deceased) Flannery, nephews and nieces
Sean (Deceased.) Michael, Patrick Flannery, Lisa (Steve) Rossi, Jennifer (Tony) Curran,
Martina (Greg) Foster, Carmel (Fred) Most, Michelle Repetto, sister-in-law Kathy Bermingham and cousins in Ireland, England and Frances.
He was preceded in life by his parents John and Theresa (Tess), and brothers Mike and Brian Bermingham.
Sean immigrated via Canada to San Francisco in January 1960 and lived in the storied Mrs. Pat's Boarding House at 1090 Page Street with several fellow Irishmen, many who became life long friends. They were all featured in the LIFE magazine article March 17, 1971 titled THE IRISH IN AMERICA. Sean got his carpenters license and went on to build homes in SF and down the coast. He spent six months in Hawaii working on the Royal Hawaiian Hotel, then returned to
SF and concentrated on his building in Half Moon Bay and El Granada.
Marilyn would like to give a big thank you to the outstanding Neurology team at UCSF Parnassus, and to the By the Bay Hospice nurses who gave outstanding compassionate care to Sean.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026 from 10:00 am-10:30 am with a Rosary starting at 10:30 am followed by Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at St. Gabriel Catholic Church located at 2559 40th Ave in San Francisco, CA burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma.
