John saved my life when I was a probationary fireman. we were in a bldg fully involved w/fire. all of a sudden the fire changed rappedly ...john told me to shut the nozzle down & get the he'll out. we made it out & then a huge backseat happened. I owe my life to him...on top of all this he was a friend and a great cook....retired firefighter...John Rogers

Those of us who live in Denver where Jack and Shirley would visit Chris and Ken and the girls, know so well what a fun and funny and caring and loving man Jack was. We have so many good memories of Jack and are blessed to have known him so well.
We were not his blood family, but he treated us as such with kindness and love. When he would arrive in Denver for a visit, it was like Christmas where we couldn't wait to see him and just enjoy his presence. And we laughed and partied and carried on without a care in the world.
We will miss you Jack. You were the ultimate "Champ" one who is admired and one who we aspire to be.

So sorry to learn of Jack's passing. He was a great fireman and a great guy. The younger officers watched Jack and realized that you could be the Boss and still be one of the guys. He was THE Captain of 3 Truck. It was my privilege to work for and with Jack. Please accept my sincere condolences.

Dear Judy & Christine, I will love forever the memories of 1955 W. College, with all our other cousins, playing together in the hot sun every Summer.I will remember Uncle Jack always smiling and playing some kind of silly trick with us and making each day as fun as it ever could be! Auntie Shirley would just shake her head and laugh at us, as well.No other kids on this planet had it as good as we did and the good thing is we knew it ! Please give my condolences to Scott and Kenneth and your families, we know your Dad & Mom are in Heaven right now, at peace with each other.

Our Sweet Uncle Jack,
As the gates of heaven opened up for you, we know you were greeted by Auntie Shirley, our mom Maureen, Auntie Kathie, Uncle Tom, Auntie Pat, Auntie Nydia, Uncle George and Auntie Georgia and more all singing a happy tune. This brings us comfort! Judy and Chris and family, you are all in our thoughts and prayers! Love you! xoxo

I really liked Jack. He was really good to me at my first firehouse (3 truck). He sang songs in the oil room in the back ally of the old firehouse.

Judy, Scott, Ken, chris and family. Although we haven't seen jack in many years, we do remember the fun times when we visited the family in California. Lots of singing around the piano. Our sympathy to all the family.

Dear Judy and Christine,
I was waiting for a streetcar in uniform to go the the St Patrick's Day parade and your dad saw me and stopped and gave me a ride to the parade. He was a gentleman and highly respected in the fire department. My deepest sympathy.
Sincerely,

Jack Bogue was an officer at 3 truck when I was anew member of 1 truck. We responded to many calls together.
Jack was the consummate Truck officer who I greatly admired for his professionalism and his level headed leadership - one of the honored few

Jack was always a pleasure, be it to exchange a quick pleasantry or discuss something of import at the moment. Always a great attitude, a smile, a happy face. Maybe it was just gas? A young firefighter could not have a better mentor in the entire SFFD. Condolences to Tom, Tim, Chris & the whole family. Godspeed.

Loved working with Jack in the SFFD. Always able to count on him and his crew at any incidents. Had the privilege of working with Jack's brother Jim at my first assignment at Sta. 6, and his Dad John at my 2nd assignment at Old E-17 in the Alley. The Bogues were legends in the SFFD.

I had the privilege of being a probie at Truck 3 under Captain Bogue. I remember him pointing to where he wanted the hole on the roof and it was, of course, right over the fire, perfect spot. As Tailspin Tommy said, you are lucky, you got a great spot, Best Truck Officer in the Dept. Timmy, Tom, and Chris, my prayers.
