Joseph Carmine Rinaldi passed away peacefully on the morning of February 18, 2016. Joe was the son of Carmine and Francis Rinaldi who immigrated from Italy. He was a longtime San Francisco native and attended Polytechnic High School where he was the president of his class. In his youth, he enjoyed drag racing his 1957 Corvette. He entered the electrical field where he joined Local 6 and worked for ARC Electric. He then started his own business as AAA Electric from which he retired. He was a longstanding member and former president of the Italian American Social Club in San Francisco. He was also an active member of the Native Sons of Italy. He was an avid card player. He was most comfortable with a deck of cards in his hands and rarely missed an opportunity for an organized card game. Up to his final days, he could be seen with his friends playing the games he loved most. Joe, aka "Chez Joey" was a devoted sports fan who followed his bay area teams faithfully. Joe is survived by his loving children; daughter Kimberlee (David) and son Joseph; only grandson Anthony and brother Edmond (Dolores). He was fortunate enough to be surrounded by a circle of friends who cared deeply for him. As he wished, there will be a Celebration of Life on Friday February 26, 2016 at The Italian American Social Club in San Francisco, 25 Russia Street from 1 pm-5pm.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

Joe was a friend of my dad's growing up and we used to go to some of the house parties Joe hosted when we lived in Hillsborough. Joe was always nice to me. All of our families used to go to Konocti Harbor Inn at Clear Lake. Last time I actually saw Joe was at an Office Depot in San Mateo. My dad and many other friends of his lost a good friend this month. I'm sorry for your loss Joey and Kim.

RIP Joe in that great Pedro playing place above.
63 years is a long time to have been friends.
I send you off with prayers for being with a group of people who really know how to play THE game.
Say hello to the old gang from Nickel pool/Mission playground.
It was great sharing our mutual love of being native San Franciscans as well as many many wonderful memories.

We have known Joe for 50 yrs. He was funny, generous and a loving and wonderful friend! We spent a lot of time with Joe and our lives will be changed forever! It just won't be the same without him. Although we know you are probably thrilled to be reunited with your little love Mopsey, we will miss you and never forget you. Rest in piece our dear friend until we meet again! We love you! Dear Joe,
I have not known you that long but the couple of years that we have known each other have been special, meeting at least twice a week to play Pedro - even though you always knew the trump cards I held in my hand. It was irritating sometimes , Joe, especially if I took the bid. If I would remember things that you tried to teach me about Pedro, I would be a better player. So, just so you know, you will be sorely missed. I wish Gus and I had more time to go to parties with you. You are in God's loving care now.
