Josephine Hoyer Obituary

Josephine Hoyer

Josephine was born on 11/8/1911 and died in her sleep at 104 years old on January 23. Born Josephine Hicks in Aspen, Colorado, she moved with her family to San Francisco when she was 12. She graduated from Girls' High School in 1929 and went to work for the Bank of America. Her career ended in 1943 when she met Elliot Hoyer, a soldier stationed in San Francisco. They married in 1944 and raised a daughter, Karen, and three sons, Jim, Alan, and Ken in their home on 48th Ave. where she lived for 63 years until last year when she moved to Alma Via Assisted Living.

Jo will join husband, Elliot, at Holy Cross Cemetery.

My condolences to the entire Hoyer family. I never met her, but knew two of her sons. She must have been a wonderful, caring mother to have raised such upstanding children. Cherish the memories that will never fade.
