June (Julie) O'Brien

Passed away peacefully in Millbrae, California on May 23, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was 95.
Julie was born to the late Paul and Rose Allegrini, May 5th 1919 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. At age two the family relocated to San Francisco, where they settled in Noe Valley. Julie attended St. Paul's Grammar School and Lick Wilmerding High School. In 1939 she married the late Walter Renner, Jr. and they raised their two loving sons in San Francisco: Walter Renner III (Barbara) and Ronald Renner (Jeanne). In 1968, she married her adoring second husband, the late Richard O'Brien, and they moved to Millbrae. June became the loving step-mother of Larry (Biff) O'Brien and his wife Trudy.
June (Julie) was active in many organizations, including Epiphany Women's Guild; Sons of Italy; Italian Catholic Federation; Millbrae Newcomers Club (since 1968); and the El Camino House Organization (ECHO). She enjoyed playing the organ, oil painting and was an avid 49er fan holding season tickets on the 50-yard line for over 25 years. She loved her weekly Mahjong game with "The Ladies" and crocheting countless coveted baby blankets for family and friends.
June (Julie) is survived by eight grandchildren: Gina (Brian) Fornesi, Lesa Renner, Walter T. Renner, Cindy Dinsmore, Ronald Renner Jr. (Samantha), April Renner, Michael O'Brien and Erin (Century) Fa'ataui. She was the loving great-grandmother to 16 great-grandchildren: Gianna, Cristelle and Ava Fornesi, Darien and Nicholas Zannis, Sophia and Julia Renner, Jack Dinsmore, Wyatt, Maverick and Stetson Renner, Carter Renner. Allana, Caeles, Adele and Century Fa'ataui.
Julie was the dear sister of Frank Allegrini and the late Pauline Brelsford, and the dear sister-in-law to the late Iris Allegrini. June is also survived by nieces, Adrienne (Lee) Candlin, Linda DeMaestri, and great-nieces and nephews including, Nicole Zafranovich, the late Damon Zafranovich, Gregory DeMaestri and Rebecca Gring (Dennis).
The family will welcome visitors on Tuesday, May 27th and Wednesday, May 28th from 5:00 until 9:00 at CROSBY - N. GRAY & CO., 2 Park Road, Burlingame, where a vigil service will be held at 7:30pm Wednesday evening. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00am Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Our Lady of Angels Church, 1721 Hillside Dr., Burlingame. Services will conclude at the church and family and friends will be invited to a Celebration Luncheon of June's (Julie's) Life immediately following.
