Kathleen Lapuyade Obituary

Kathleen (McEntee) Lapuyade

1933 - 2018

Beloved wife and mother, Kathleen, passed away in San Bruno on Valentine's Day at the age of 84. Kathleen was born in Ballybay, Co. Monaghan, Ireland, the 10th of 14 children. She immigrated to San Francisco in 1954. She worked as a nanny while she took business classes at night. After graduation, she went to work at Pacific Bell. She worked there until she met her future husband, Grat Lapuyade, in 1956.
Kathleen spent many years as a homemaker, raising her 4 children. After they were grown, she reinvented herself again going back to school and obtaining a nurse's aide certification. She did private practice work for 7 years and eventually joined the Home Health team at Kaiser Permanente (SF). She retired from Kaiser after 10 years of service.
Kathleen is survived by her husband of 61 years, Grat; children: Jackie, Annette, Robert (Eileen) and Christine (Greg); and grandchildren: Lauren, Jenna, Ryan and Grayson. She is also survived by her brother, Stephen McEntee and sisters, Teasie McGarry and Brigid McMahon.
The viewing and Rosary will be held at Chapel of the Highlands, 194 Millwood Drive, Millbrae on Monday, February 19th. Viewing is available from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and the Rosary is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Robert's Catholic Church, 1380 Crystal Springs Road, San Bruno at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 20th, followed by a Graveside Service at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma.

Dearest Uncle Grat, Jackie, Annette, Robert & Family and Christine & Family, What a physical, emotional roller coaster and journey your mom and the rest of you have been on these past few years. I feel like the last of the McEntee sisters, which made up the "3 Musketeer's" has gone to join the other two and rest of the clan. May your good memories of your mom, be a source of comfort in the weeks and months ahead. May you find ways to embrace your grief and the wisdom that comes with that difficult task. May you know that you are thought of, loved and supported from Tacoma, through Burbank all the way to Houston. I'm sorry, I was unable to get off from work tomorrow to attend:-( Know that we love you all and offer our deepest condolences.
