Kevan Komata Obituary

Kevan O'Niel (Massey) Komata Was born in Yokohama, Japan in March 1952 and died in San Francisco, California in October 2011. He was the adopted son of Lili and Alvis Massey. Kevan was proud, educated and handsome. Eleanor Roosevelt said "do one thing everyday that scares you". Kevan did that. He never stopped learning, educating himself, travelling, making new friends or living in new places. He was an accomplished guitarist, tennis player and was a black belt martial artist. As an adult he returned to college and graduated from UC San Diego. Following that he attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. Kevan consistently stepped outside his comfort zone in search of inner peace. He lived a rich, full and honorable life. He is survived by his adoptive family as well as the many friends who loved him. His smile and generous spirit will be remembered. Any donations may be given to Challenged Athletes, empowering victims to no longer ask "why me" but "what's next", or Voices for Children - transforming the lives of abused children in San Diego's foster care system.

I am so sorry for the loss of your dear loved one. It's comforting to know that God cares for all of us and losing a loved one is something we cannot get use to. The Bible gives us hope that one day we can see our dear loved one again. On behalf of all mankind Jesus surrender his soul for many. John 15:13 says “No one has love greater than this, that someone should surrender his soul on behalf of his friends.” Truly I am sorry to hear of the loss of your dear loved one and I hope these few words will bring you comfort and hope.
