Laura O'Rourke
Passed away suddenly October 16, 2012.
Beloved wife of Michael O'Rourke, loving mother of Ian Paul and Trixie their puppy. Loving Twin sister of Terri Murphy (KC), loving aunt of Trevor and Jenna and many loving nieces and nephews.
Born May 22, 1961 in San Francisco. Attended Abraham Lincoln High School. Laura played on the tennis team at Lincoln, and continued to play throughout her adult life at Golden Gate Park Tennis Club and Rolling Hills Tennis Club in Novato. She had great love for animals, flowers, music, sunshine and all holidays.
Laura worked at numerous Hand and Physical Therapy offices in San Francisco and Novato. Laura recently worked at Our Lady of Loretto, after school day care.
Laura took great pride and joy watching Ian grow and play baseball.
Family and Friends are invited to a memorial on Wednesday October 24th at St. Gabriel's Church, 2559 40th Avenue, San Francisco. Reception to follow at City Forest Lodge, 254 Laguna Honda Boulevard.
Donations in Laura's name may be made to the Marin Humane Society, 171 Bel Marin Keys, Novato, Ca 94949.

Dear Mike, Ian, and Family,
We are shocked and saddened to hear the news of Laura's passing. She was one of the most kind, compassionate, genuine people I have ever met. It was obvious how much she adored her family and friends. I always admired Laura and her ability to light up a room with her contagious smile, generous nature, and warm heart. She will be missed by all but will live through the people she touched and the beautiful young man she was raising.

Laura was the one of the biggest-hearted people I have ever met. I can't believe I'll never again get to hear her talking about my being the first person she played tennis with at Rolling Hills. I will cherish those memories and miss her forever.

We will think of Laura as a sweet, kind, and gentle soul. She was interested in those with whom she came in contact, and remembered details about them. She was supportive and helpful. She was also very patient. Her skill on the tennis court never went to her head. She could beat you with her backhand one minute and cheer you on the next.
The world is a better place because of her.

Mike and Ian, Laura will always live in our hearts and prayers. We are so thankful for the friendship and the many times we were able to spend together, especially last spring, with our play dates, car pools and baseball games. She was so generous and spent our very last day in Novato on June 12, 2012 packing up our car and helping us do last minute cleaning of our empty house before our move to So Cal. She stayed with us and comforted us knowing how sad we were to go away. We will always remember her kindness, advice and warmth, and we just feel so lucky to have known her. Laura was the last person to say goodbye to us and hug us when we pulled out of our drive way to move away for good, so when we think of our happy times in Novato and White Oak Way, we will always think of Laura.
