I was always crazy about my cousin, Larry, as a kid. I remember one time he carried me up Mt. Lassen - I was 9 or 10 and lazy but thought I could make it to the summit with him. (He was an older teen.) It didn't take long on the trail before I was done, so he picked me up and carried me on his back for most of the way. When I think back on that I'm just amazed. I wasn't a little kid and that wasn't a short or easy hike. I can't believe he's gone, that I'll never hear his distinctive voice again. I regret that we only saw each other occasionally as adults. Good bye, dear cousin.
