Lola Clark Obituary

Lola Clark
01/15/1930 - 06/24/2024
In the immortal words of Lola; "I thought you should know". Lola was born in San Mateo and was one of three daughters of Ines and Settimo Casini who immigrated to the US from the area around Lucca, Italy. The other daughters were Adelma and Gloria; both deceased.
She was a proud native of South San Francisco and graduated from SSF High School. She often spoke about picking flowers on the hills of SSF during the Depression to earn money for the family. In 1949 she married Jarold Joseph and they had a son, Wayne. They divorced in 1960. After high school, she had various jobs before working at Schlage Lock Company for 40+ years, where she made many lifelong friends including Barbara Ferguson whom she considered as a sister. She also met her second husband, Herb Clark, at Schlage. They were married in 1967 until his death in 1998. They had a wonderful life together, living in SSF, then Burlingame. After Herb retired they moved to Santa Rosa, where they made many more lifelong friends. Due to Herb's illness, they returned to San Mateo in 1998 to live closer to Wayne and his family.
Lola will be remembered for her wonderful pasta sauce, biscotti, fried zucchini, Italian toast, and family gatherings at Thanksgiving.
Lola is survived by her children Dr. Wayne (Geri) Joseph, Marcia Clark, and Herb Clark Jr; grandchildren Cynthia (Peter) Ehrhorn, Gina (Elliott) Chapman, Carrie Clark-Kenny, Lisa (Mark) Thomas, and Daniel Clark. She also leaves 7 great-grandchildren, Isabelle and Eliza Ehrhorn, Luca Chapman, Juno and Jezabel Kenny, and Ella and Lucy Thomas.
Private services will be held with the family.

I just found out about my dear Lola passing. She was a wonderful friend of my Dad Tom Prossima who worked at Schlage as well. Lola and I would stay in touch calling each other on the phone to catch up. I will miss her terribly. My thoughts to her family.

Sorry to hear about Lola. She got me my first job at Schlage Lock. She was a great lady. She is now with my mom, Lorraine, and my Dad, Fred Demattei.

My deepest condolence to Lola's family. She was a wonderful lady and I loved talking to her often during the holidays. We, in Kingston Ont had the pleasure of seeing her and knowing her. My family connections with Lola goes back to my great-great grandmother in Lucca Italy. I am sad to hear of her passing. May you all find strength in each other during this difficult time.
