Madeline Pavini Obituary
April 17, 1929 - June 16, 2023
Peacefully entered eternal rest on June 16, 2023 at home with family at her side.
Pat was born and raised in San Francisco. She fondly remembered the vegetable garden at Crocker-Amazon Park across from her home, as well as chasing away errant cows that wandered into the family's backyard. She attended Epiphany Grammar School and, following in her mother's footsteps, graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy. Pat was a member of Epiphany's Magi Club, where she met the love of her life, Galdo. They married at Epiphany Church in 1950 and raised their 5 children just two blocks away. Their love story was the basis for a CBS TV special. Not many people can say their love story won an Emmy.
Pat took pride in raising her children, caring for her family, and volunteering where she could. She was calm and measured in all she did, with very little bothering her. Never a mean word slipped past her lips. She was the sweetest, most gentle person imaginable. After moving to the Peninsula in 1981, Pat volunteered at Catholic Charities' Primrose House.
Pat is survived by son Michael; daughters Madeline Cummings; Marie Martin (Mike); and Jeanette Musci (Thomas); and daughter-in-law Carol. Predeceased by her beloved Galdo; son, James; son-in-law, Mike Cummings; and granddaughter, Kristy. Nonna to Chris, Tim, Michael, David, Brandon, Ken, and Joelle. Bisnonna to Audrey, Oliver, Noelle, Mikey, Nicole, Aleq, Madeline, and Marilyn. Bis-bisnonna to Dani Marie.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 21 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bartholomew Church in San Mateo. Interment private. The funeral Mass will be live streamed and recorded at: https://bit.ly/3CAJa3q
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Catholic Charities.
